HOW TO RECORD YOUR FAVORITE SATELLITE TV PROGRAM AND CONVERT IT TO ANY FORMAT YOU WANT

IN today's world we now see the record function on receivers in almost all Decoders, especially on High definition Decoders and mpeg 4 decoders. today i will be sharing with you how you can record and covert the recorded video to any format you want.

Different receivers have different ways of recording, but as easy and simple as it sound that is how easy you can use the function. I am going to use strong Receiver for this tutorial.

For you to be able to record on any decoder be it Strong, Qsat, Azsky, Tlink, Digisat, Digi quest, Tiger, etc. you would need a USB flash drive. this will serve as the storage device, for now i only know of DSTV Explorer that has an inbuilt storage device. now lets move on.

Insert the Flash Drive in the USB port of your receiver

On your Remote control Click on the record button (Varies from different receivers) use your discretion to find  where its located on your remote.

On strong Decoders click on record, and it will start recording if done click on stop and save.
note: when recording you can watch another channel but only channels on same frequency with the one you are recording.
Now to the big question HOW CAN I GET THIS TO PLAY ON OTHER PLATFORMS
like on my PC and mobile.

After recording you can not play the video directly on your PC from the flash drive, you have to convert it to a playable format. e.g mpeg, mp4, 3gp, and other format. to do this you need to use TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER on your PC if you don't have it you can download it here

DOWNLOAD HERE

Converting your Recorded video
After downloading and installing total video converter open it, you should have a screen like this

Insert your flash drive into your PC via the USB port
Next is to select the recorded video from your flash drive. To do this open Total Video Converter>> select New Task >>>Import Files>>>now a window will pop up like the image below

Choose your Flash Drive >>> open the folder called Records and the list of channels or program you recorded will be displayed:
Open any of the program you want to convert and after selecting the program you will have this window show in the picture below  asking you to select the format you want the video to be converted
Select any video format you want and click on Convert. note at the top right corner select try to decode with mX9 now, click on convert after selecting your desired output i selected mpeg for this video. And the video will be converted.

With this tutorial you can convert any recorded video from your decoder to any video format you want.
