How to connect several Dishes to a Receiver using DiSEqC Switches

STRONG-DiSEqC-Switches
A DiSEqC Switch (Digital Satellite Equipment Control) is a device, which enables you to connect multple LNBs to a common satellite receiver. Connecting your Digital Satellite Receiver to several dishes give you the opportunity to increase the number of FREE-TO-AIR Channels to view.

In Nigeria and in Western Africa you can receive more than 20 different Satellites broadcasting FREE-TO-AIR channels. So why prevent yourself from increasing your number of TV Channels ?
How Does a DiSEqC Switch work ?

A DiSEqC Switch is a peripheral device which enable the selection of one of a multitude of connected LNB sources (950-2300MHz Intermediate Frequency) on the basis of digital commands generated by the receiver.DiSEqC 1.0 –
Is the basic version of this switch type, being one-way, which means that only
allows the issuance from the receiver to the switch of the same type.
Controls up to 4 inputs and one output.

TYPES:

DiSEqC 1.1 – Similar to the previous one, but can control up to 16 signal inputs, by allow
switching to other similar switches.

DiSEqC 1.2 – The primary function of this version is the ability to move antennas, by use of a
engine designed specially for this Protocol. On the other hand, can also, and at the same time,
like the DiSEqC 1.1, create other four control signals and select up to 16 other antennas

DiSEqC 1.3 – Equal to 1.2 but with USALS (with algorithm for calculating the positions of satellites as its geographical position therefore requires the geographic locations of the location of the antenna sat)

DiSEqC 2.0 – Similar to version 1.0, but, in turn, in addition to switching allows the dialogue in two
senses so that it can provide data on switching to the operator.

DiSEqC 2.1 – Similar to DiSEqC 1.1, but with return information to the operator.

DiSEqC 2.2 – Similar to DiSEqC 1.2, but also with "feedback" data relating to
positioning and switching. The possibility of feedback is important, insofar as they can at any time assess the State of installation.

Settings

You have to go to the Installation/Settings page of your  receiver. Then you have to select the input of the LNB (1, 2, 3, 4 etc) according to the LNB which receives the signal of a particular satellite.

For instance, if you have four satellite lets say astra 2F, Eutelsat7a, Ses 5 and Hotbird 13, if the LNB which receives the signal of Astra 2F is connected to the input 1 of your DiSEqC Switches, you will have to select in the setting page of Astra2f to input 1, if you eutelsat is connected to input 2 then the setting for eutelsat 7a on the setting page will be set to input 2.. that is how you do for all the satellites.
Also connecting to the decoder check the image above the middle port goes to the decoder. i.e one end of cable to the middle of the diseq and the other end to the lnb input of the decoder.

If you receive with a single LNB two different satellites (which are close in the space one from each other; for instance Amos 5 & Eutelsat 16), you will have to configure your receiver with the two satellites connected to the same input.

NOTE some Receivers has ABCD instead of the common 1234 o just know that A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4
